I wasn’t always this way. I think it started when The Bear was born and I couldn’t run off to the laptop to mindlessly browse blogs or websites. My iPhone was just so convenient. It was my way to keep in touch with the outside world as I tended to a newborn 24/7. When I would pump in the middle of the night, it was my trusty iPhone’s clock application that let me know what time it was and how long I had been draining my boobies for. Can’t forget my nifty pregnancy tracker app or baby tracker. When you’re running on one hour of interrupted sleep, having an app where you can record baby’s last feeding and poop consistency is a God send.
Now I’m on my iPhone mostly out of habit. Truth be told, I’m not much of a texter. I’m not an app happy person. I have very few apps, especially compared to The Hubs. But one app in particular would draw my index finger to it repeatedly.

It’s all there; all of my friends profiles, pointless status updates, random photos…right at my finger tip. I could
About 3 days ago I had an epiphany – I was wasting my time. So I did the unthinkable – I deleted the app.
My finger quivered as I held it down on the app and the little “x” popped up. Before I was able to second guess my decision, I did it fast! I clicked the “x“. I compare it to ripping off a Band-aid. It stung for a second but it was immediately followed my relief. It felt good.
I don’t miss it. I mean it, I really don’t.
Today, deleting Facebook app. Tomorrow, swearing off celebrity gossip blogs. O.k., I won’t go that far.
